I think I see how this could go wrong.

Home security company ADT has acquired Origin Wireless, which can use Wi-Fi signals to detect where people and objects are. An appropriately named commenter recognizes there might be some cause for concern.

PerpetuallySkeptical:

I’m sure that paying a company to see exactly where I am in my house at all times won’t be used against me in the future.

Nothing looks good in pink.

The upcoming Phone 4A will be available in a gorgeous blush colorway, a pretty late (but welcome) addition to the pink phone trend. Nothing designer Lucy Birley says the transparent chassis is actually tinted red:

“Because of how the light interacts with the resin underneath you get this incredible sense of depth which makes our products look really lively.”

Jeffrey Epstein made moves at Microsoft.

Epstein “found success boring into the inner sanctums of Microsoft,” according to The New York Times, more so than any other major tech company. New Justice Department documents show he spent a decade networking with top Microsoft executives, including Bill Gates, Nathan Myhrvold, and Steven Sinofsky, even after serving time for soliciting a minor.

HP says RAM accounts for a third of its PC costs now.

CEO Bruce Broussard said during its Q1 2026 earnings call that RAM now makes up 35 percent of its cost of materials. That’s up from 15-18 percent just three months earlier. It’s not announcing price hikes yet, but we’d be surprised if they weren’t coming. RAMageddon is nigh.

Tecno is doing a modular phone (again).

Every year someone invents the modular phone; this time it’s Tecno’s turn. The company will bring a modular magnetic concept device to next week’s MWC 2026, with options like a power bank, telephoto lens, or action camera to add on. We’ll only really believe it if Tecno actually lets me test the thing at the show.

Sonos is planning a big app update again.

As reported by former Verge staffer Chris Welch for Bloomberg, Sonos is planning to “simplify” its mobile app, but unlike with the last Sonos app debacle, the changes will be opt-in until they’re ready for a wide release.

Overwatch Rush is a top-down spinoff made for iOS and Android.

Blizzard apparently isn’t busy enough with Overwatch, announcing a mobile version of the game that “will begin select region testing soon.” Unlike mobile versions of games like Call of Duty, PUBG, or Fortnite, it’s not an attempt at an FPS and is being made by a separate team.

A gameplay preview trailer shows a similar feeling but slower-paced game capable of running on devices like an iPhone XS or Pixel 4a.
