Can you tell who made this movie just from the thumbnail?

If you’ve seen the Wes Anderson meme, or watched multiple Wes Anderson films in a row because that seemed like a good idea at the time, then you will immediately clock his work just from the thumbnail for this trailer. The colors, the subject dead center in the frame. Yup. That’s an Anderson joint.

The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar, based on the Roald Dahl short story collection, premiered at the Venice Film Festival on September 1 to great praise. It will be in theaters on September 20, and on Netflix September 27.

For All Mankind’s season 4 teaser reminds you just how sci-fi this show has gotten.

The teaser isn’t big on plot, but it does feature one of the main cast members in some intense old age makeup and plenty of gorgeous Martian vistas that feel straight out of Total Recall. The show, which tells the story of space exploration in a world where the USSR landed on the Moon before the US, will return to Apple TV Plus on November 10th.

Here’s the plot according to Apple:

Rocketing into the new millennium in the eight years since Season 3, Happy Valley has rapidly expanded its footprint on Mars by turning former foes into partners. Now 2003, the focus of the space program has turned to the capture and mining of extremely valuable, mineral-rich asteroids that could change the future of both Earth and Mars. But simmering tensions between the residents of the now-sprawling international base threaten to undo everything they are working towards.

The second trailer for Killers of the Flower Moon lays out the film’s devastating plot.

Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon is one of the most anticipated films getting distributed by Apple. Yet while we’ve heard lots about its run time, and its streaming home until today we haven’t seen a whole lot from the film itself.

Killers of the Flower Moon comes to theaters October 20th and to Apple TV at some point after.

Ken Paxton’s impeachment trial is getting real nerdy about PDFs.

The Texas Attorney General was impeached by the Texas House of Representatives in a historic vote back in May, and now he’s on trial before the Texas State Senate. Part of the trial involves his close relationship with real estate investor Nate Paul who accused the United States of illegally altering search warrants.

He was formerly interviewed by Mark Penley, a former deputy Attorney General Paxton fired after Penley reported him to the FBI. Penley’s recently released conversation with Paul gets truly nerdy around page 166 when Paul becomes an expert on making PDFs.

Firefox’s email relay service is getting a little easier to use.

Starting today anyone with a Firefox account will have access to Firefox Relay—no second account necessary. The feature is rolling out to existing users over the next few weeks, but you’ll only get 5 email masks for free. If you want unlimited email masks to protect your primary email than you’ll need to spend at least $0.99 a month. Not bad, but Apple provides unlimited email masks through Hide My Email for free.

Canceling a show because of the Hollywood strikes is certainly...a move.

Amazon has canceled A League of Their Own again. Amazon previously canceled the show, a gorgeous queer-centered story about professional woman baseball players in the 1940s. Then Amazon brought the show back for a shortened season to wrap up storylines.

Now it’s canceled the show again, with Deadline suggesting it was “believed to stem from the length of the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.” Which...sure. That’s a claim you can make, but it certainly feels like a punishment more than a business decision.

When the show was initially canceled, showrunner Will Graham tweeted that its audience was “very big,” but he was unclear on exact numbers due to the practice of streaming services not disclosing streaming metrics.

This one feels like a total swing and a miss on Amazon’s part.

It’s like if the Game Boy Advance SP was even tinier.

That’s the best way I can describe the FunKey S, a very adorable, but extremely tiny, retro gaming console. It comes in a bunch of colors including the late 90s-early 2000s classic Atomic Purple and should be able to emulate consoles up to the original PlayStation.

But given it looks like it was made for ants I wouldn’t anticipate either the most pleasing gaming experience or the longest lasting one.

Naturally I ordered one as soon as I saw it because I want to see what Syphon Filter looks like on a 1.54-inch screen. I’ll report back once I find out.

    X Pro is official.

The rebranding of Tweetdeck has finally been announced. Tweetdeck users began noticing a paywall and the new name of the popular Twitter app on Tuesday, but there was no official communication from X, the company formerly known as Twitter, until today.

It’s the final countdown for Matt Groening’s Disenchantment.

The animated show, Groening’s first since The Simpsons and Futurama is ending on Netflix real soon, and judging by this new trailer it looks like I missed some things skipping the last season! I guess I know what I’m watching on the plane this weekend.

Disenchantment started off as a funny fantasy and then slowly became a very hardcore fantasy show that took advantage of the medium to do some really wild stuff visually.

Disenchantment’s final season airs on Netflix on September 1.
