    Behold: Ghostwriter in the flesh.

The person behind that hit AI Drake song “Heart on My Sleeve,” @ghostwriter977 on TikTok, is making what (I think?) is his first public appearance at Bloomberg’s Screentime conference in Los Angeles. He’s in disguise and speaking through a voice distorter, which is pretty good theater as far as business conferences go.

“Honestly, this is bigger than me,” he tells the crowd when asked why he wants to say anonymous. “AI is going to be a big part of our future and we need to prepare... it’s not about who I am.”

He calls “Heart on My Sleeve,” which garnered millions of views before it was taken offline at the request of Drake’s label, Universal Music Group, “an experiment,” and says he “won’t be uploading music again without participation of the talent.”

When didn’t he just ask Drake for permission beforehand? “I don’t have Drake’s phone number.”

It sounds like YouTube isn’t going to bid on NBA rights.

Reading between the lines of YouTube chief Neal Mohan’s comments onstage here at Bloomberg’s Screentime conference in Los Angeles, the streaming giant may have its hands full with NFL Sunday Ticket.

“We’re taking it one step at a time right now,” he said after being asked about the NBA. “The NFL Sunday ticket is a big area of focus for us.”

AI is relatively easy. Working in China? That’s harder.

Kenya is probably going to ban Sam Altman’s eyeball-scanning crypto orbs.

One of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman’s other companies, Worldcoin, is in hot water for giving people free crypto in exchange for scanning their eyeballs into the startup’s proprietary orb.

For example, the Kenyan government appears to be on the verge of banning Worldcoin’s operations in the country “until there is a legal framework for regulation of virtual assets,” according to Reuters.

Worldcoin doesn’t appear to be slowing down its expansion efforts, though. The last press release I got from the company said that more than 1 percent of Chile’s entire population had signed up.

Why isn’t X on Linda Yaccarino’s home screen?

During her bizarre interview at the Code Conference yesterday, Yaccarino held up her iPhone to the audience while seemingly indicating that it was supposed to represent X. I was sitting near the front of the stage and squinting to try and see what was on it.

Thanks to the magic of video and this screengrab from my colleague Vjeran, we have the goods. X doesn’t appear to be on her home screen but, incredibly, Facebook and Instagram are. I also spot Signal — Elon Musk’s messaging app of choice — and the Holy Bible, which really is the original super app if you think about it. (Also, Settings in the dock? What are you doing, Linda!)
