Tesla Superchargers experiencing a different kind of cut.

After Tesla CEO Elon Musk fired the entire 500 Supercharger team, a TikTok user noticed that all the cables at this Vallejo, Calif. station had been severed, rendering it useless. Vandalism? Or thieves looking to extract the valuable copper from inside the cables?

Steering wheel bling is blinding people.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is warning people not to buy rhinestone-studded steering wheel decals, after several people were reported injured by the shiny decorations. A crash triggering an airbag sent tiny rhinestones into one person’s face and neck, while another person lost sight in one eye. Glittering metallic decals featuring all the major car brands’ logos can be found on eBay, Etsy, and a number of other online sellers.

Meet Cargi B, the tiny truck that’s really an e-bike.

Many people have experienced the transformative, car-replacing magic of electric cargo bikes. And now delivery companies, like Amazon, FedEx, and UPS, as well as the City of New York, are getting in on the action. Curbed’s John Surico has the latest on the proliferation of e-cargo bikes in the city:

The dream scenario, advocates told me, is this: Trucks or ships drop off your online order at a distribution center at a pier or on the urban outskirts, the package gets moved to a waiting e-cargo bike, and the bike goes the remaining distance to deliver it to your door.

    50,000.

That’s how many paid trips Waymo says its driverless vehicles perform each week. For all the speculation and chaos surrounding autonomous vehicles lately, its helpful to remember that fully driverless cars are operating in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Phoenix — right now. Waymo credits its “safe and deliberate approach” for its successes. Of course, a quick glance at social media will also expose a lot of deliberate driving on the wrong side of the road behavior.

‘Oh, come on be alive again/Don’t lay down and die!’

The lyrics to Hole’s Malibu, but also a fitting coda for the Chevy Malibu, that is ending production later this year. GM says it will shift resources to EVs, but you know it and I know it, it’s just another sedan sacrificed on the alter of big trucks and SUVs.
