Final Fantasy creator can’t stop playing Final Fantasy XIV.

From a Bloomberg interview with Hironobu Sakaguchi:

“On a rare occasion — I want to stress ‘rare occasion’ — sometimes one of the Mistwalker team members will hop on Final Fantasy XIV, and I’ll see a message saying, ‘Hey, the meeting’s started.”

Two new flavors of the Super Pocket.

Evercade first debuted this adorable handheld last year, and now it’s expanding the line with two new versions: one packed with 50 Atari classics, the other 15 Japanese arcade games like Double Dragon and River City Ransom. Both are also compatible with Evercade cartridges, and they’re expected to start shipping in October. Pre-orders open on July 31st.

    Jango is back.

The years have been rough for bounty hunting Star Wars games; Boba Fett’s turn in 1313 was never released, and Respawn’s Mandalorian game has reportedly been cancelled as well. But we’ll always have the PS2 / GameCube-era Bounty Hunter starring Jango Fett. Now it’s getting a re-release on Switch, Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox — launching on August 1st.

    Survival horror classics, sans DRM.

Classic gaming site GOG.com is bringing the original Resident Evil series to its service, which means you can play the PlayStation-era horror trilogy on PC without fussing with DRM. The first game is available now, while parts two and three are on their way.

Alfonso Cuarón’s Apple TV Plus series starts streaming on October 11th.

The Gravity and Children of Men director is helming Disclaimer, which stars Cate Blanchett as a journalist who “built her reputation revealing the misdeeds and transgressions of others” and “is horrified to realize she is now the main character in a story that exposes her darkest secrets.” No trailer, but here’s a photo of Blanchett looking pretty stressed out.

An excellent retro collection gets even better.

The playable documentary Atari 50 is getting an expansion that will add 39 classic games, split across two new interactive timelines, with even more behind-the-scenes details. It’s not clear yet when the update will drop (or for how much), but later this year the collection is also getting a physical release.
