It’s been a pretty good period for horror with the likes of MaXXXine and Longlegs, and that run looks to continue with Cuckoo, which hits theaters on August 9th.

It turns out that refrain is also true in space. Artist and animator Paul “OtaKing” Johnson just released his latest short film, a gorgeous 20-minute-long take on the Alien universe called Monday, which channels the retrofuture vibes and tense horror of the original. (For more on Johnson’s work, be sure to check out TIE Fighter.) Just the thing to get you in the Xenomorph mode ahead of Alien: Romulus.

I guess we’ll find out soon, as Tesla’s Cybertruck is being added to the battle royale game starting July 23rd. If nothing else, it’s nice to see Fortnite going old-school with low-poly graphics.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes hits Hulu on August 2nd, which means you can watch the entire franchise — dating back to the 1968 original — in one place.

Fortnite’s never-ending string of licensed characters now includes Captain Jack and the rest of the crew from Pirates of the Caribbean. The collab features some pirates to purchase, a mini battle pass, and a handful of limited time quests. Check the full details here.

Forestrike comes from the same studio behind the excellent indie title Olija, and it allows players to plan out how they approach battle before ever throwing a punch. Unfortunately you’ll have to wait some time to play it — the game launches in 2025.
