Epic is starting to tease the next big Fortnite event, called “Fracture,” which kicks off this weekend. It’s billed as the finale for Chapter 3, suggesting a brand-new island is on the way. And now we have a confusing tagline of “nothing ever lasts forever” to mull over until then. The live event kicks off at 4PM ET on December 3rd — and you can check out all of the details right here.

The mobile RPG from Nintendo officially shuts down at 1AM ET on November 30th. It’s a sad moment for fans of the game, though — as we explored in this report from earlier this year — they’re racing to save as much of the experience as possible before the deadline.
The ticking time bomb of modern free-to-play games
Today Nintendo Switch Sports — basically a spiritual successor to Wii Sports — is getting a big update, which includes the long-awaited addition of golf. Just be sure to hold on to those Joy-Con controllers firmly before swinging. For more on the game, check out our original review.
It’s Thanksgiving weekend, the perfect time to laze around watching and playing things (or, if you’re brave, heading to a theater).
This week’s releases include some good stuff like the season finale of Andor, a charming Christmas special from the Guardians of the Galaxy, the soothing puzzle game A Little to the Left, and the limited theatrical run of Knives Out sequel Glass Onion (keep an eye out for a cameo from this very website).
You should also check out the excellent Deus Ex Go while you still can.
One of my favorite ongoing gags in Bob’s Burgers is the Thanksgiving episodes, where Bob is always obsessed with cooking the perfect meal — before everything, naturally, goes wrong. Like in this clip from season 4 when turkeys keep ending up in the toilet. It’s both a good joke and a good mystery.
you might be looking to dig a little more into the excellent Star Wars spinoff. We’ve got you covered. First, there’s this deep-dive into the final episode from Charles Pulliam-Moore (which follows his initial review of the show).
But we also have an interview with showrunner Tony Gilroy and writer Beau Willimon about the kind of story Andor is trying to tell, as well as a discussion with production designer Luke Hull and costume designer Michael Wilkinson about everything from space heaters to business suits.
Oh, and if you’re just starting the show, do not skip the intro.
My colleague Ash Parrish has written a great list of mobile / portable games to help distract your younger family members this Thanksgiving. I’m sure it will come in handy for plenty of folks. But I’d like to call attention to the lead illustration, by The Verge’s senior creative director William Joel, which is a literal gamer turkey. Not sure how it manages to use a mouse and keyboard, but honestly, this is a stream I would watch.
65daysofstatic are best-known for the brilliant procedural soundtrack to No Man’s Sky (though you should definitely check out their other work, like 2013’s Wild Light). Now they’re trying to worm their way further into your subconscious with a project called Wreckage Systems.
It’s basically a never-ending stream of industrial electronic music that serves as ideal background noise, especially if you want to feel like you’re in a classic sci-fi movie. “Wreckage Systems is what you will wake up to in the mornings and fall asleep to at night,” the band explains. “It is your digital noise comrade.”
Check out this piece in Wired for more on the project.
