The holiday releases are in full swing.

It’s December, and new games, movies, and TV shows are coming out at a rapid pace. This week we have the excellent revival of Willow on Disney Plus, some superhero strategy with Marvel’s Midnight Suns, the terrifying (and frustrating) horror game The Callisto Protocol, and Tilda Swinton playing two different roles in the haunting The Eternal Daughter.

It’s also a good week for subscription gaming services. Netflix just got a great batch of releases, including the adorable Cats & Soup, while the classic Dead Cells is now available on Apple Arcade. And for Fortnite players, the battle royale’s next major live event happens at 4PM ET today.

What could have been for The Midnight Club.

Fresh off the announcement that Mike Flanagan has signed an exclusive deal with Amazon, comes the news that the showrunner’s latest Netflix series, The Midnight Club, won’t be getting a second season. Given that season 1 left some big unresolved questions, Flanagan has taken to Tumblr to share with fans what could have been.

The Callisto Protocol is terrifying sci-fi horror with terrifying difficulty spikes

The game, led by Dead Space creator Glen Schofield, takes an old-school approach to survival horror. And it works — except when it becomes painfully frustrating.

Monster Hunter rises onto new platforms.

After starting life as a portable game, and then expanding to PC, Monster Hunter Rise is now coming to a bunch of consoles. Capcom announced that the game (and its adorable Palico companions) will be available on the Xbox One, Series X/S, PS4, and PS5 starting January 20th. And for Game Pass subscribers, it’s coming there on the same day.

    “Nothing ever lasts forever.”

Epic is starting to tease the next big Fortnite event, called “Fracture,” which kicks off this weekend. It’s billed as the finale for Chapter 3, suggesting a brand-new island is on the way. And now we have a confusing tagline of “nothing ever lasts forever” to mull over until then. The live event kicks off at 4PM ET on December 3rd — and you can check out all of the details right here.

Time is almost up for Nintendo’s Dragalia Lost.

The mobile RPG from Nintendo officially shuts down at 1AM ET on November 30th. It’s a sad moment for fans of the game, though — as we explored in this report from earlier this year — they’re racing to save as much of the experience as possible before the deadline.
