We already knew that Peacock’s The Office spinoff was coming in September, and now the streamer has announced a specific date: September 4th. There will be two new episodes every Thursday, running through September 25th.
The Big Bang Theory is getting another spinoff, but this one is a bit weirder. It’s called Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, and here’s the set-up: “comic book store owner Stuart Bloom is tasked with restoring reality after he breaks a device built by Sheldon and Leonard, accidentally bringing about a multiverse Armageddon.” Which means there will be familiar characters... from an alternate universe. No word yet on when the series will premiere.
GSC Game World has announced that its gloriously messy shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is coming to the PlayStation 5. There aren’t a lot of details, but the new version will make use of the DualSense controller’s features, and is expected to launch towards the end of 2025.
The record-breaking animated film is going to be hitting theaters in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand on August 22nd, this time with dialogue in English. CMC Pictures has partnered with A24 for the new release, and the cast will include Michelle Yeoh, who described the movie in a statement as “a landmark in Chinese animation and a powerful reminder of how universal our stories can be.”
But, like, the good kind. The subscription service just announced the four games that will be hitting in August, and the highlight is Worms Across Worlds, the latest iteration of the turn-based strategy series. It’ll be launching alongside Play-Doh World, Let’s Go Mightycat, and Everybody Shogi.
The studio has responded to reports from last week claiming that, after funding for its current game was pulled, it was closing down altogether. Now the developer says that it is “doing everything in our power to ensure that it does not come to that.” And there’s more good news: it appears there’s some publisher interest in keeping the game alive.
