    Beach day.

After a long wait, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach launches today on the PS5. And if you’re looking to read all about Hideo Kojima’s latest, we’ve got you covered: there’s our review, an exploration of the music, a story about cutscenes, and even some thoughts from Kojima himself. And here’s the launch trailer which, of course, is six minutes long.

    Remedy is in control

Nintendo is launching a (museum) expansion.

The Nintendo Museum opened last year in Kyoto, and nearly a year later it’s getting new addition in the form of an art gallery. The company says that it will feature “a wide range of game artwork, including character illustrations and concept art,” and will open on September 3rd.

    A hot Diablo summer.

Sony just outlined the games coming to PlayStation Plus in July, and the headliner is Diablo IV. The subscription service is also celebrating its 15th anniversary at the moment, which includes some deals in the PlayStation store.

Death Stranding 2 is much more approachable, if you’re prepared

Hideo Kojima’s series remains demanding and inscrutable, but the original game sets up the sequel perfectly.

    In the mood for streaming.

Wong Kar-wai, the director behind Chungking Express and In the Mood For Love, made his first TV series with the 30-episode-long Blossoms Shanghai, which aired in China in 2023. And soon you’ll be able to watch it yourself: it’s coming to the Criterion Channel “later this year.”

    Firebreak with me.

Remedy is working on a full sequel to Control, but in the meantime there’s FBC: Firebreak, a co-op shooter set in the same universe that launches today. For more on what the studio is aiming for with Firebreak, you can check out this story I wrote in May.

    Great, more crafting games.

Just kidding. Microsoft is continuing to beef up its Game Pass offerings by adding Blizzard titles, this time with the remasters of the first three Warcraft games, which are available on June 26th for subscribers on PC.
