Dell’s Precision laptops return with new Intel Panther Lake models.

Now that Dell has brought back XPS, it’s Precision’s turn. Dell is announcing new Pro Precision 5 and Pro Precision 7 laptops to replace the iPhone-sounding Dell Pro Max. They’ll come in 14- and 16-inch sizes with Intel Panther Lake CPUs and optional Nvidia Pro Blackwell GPUs. Most models are expected in May, though pricing is TBD.

The Dell Pro Precision 5 14 will start with an Intel Core Ultra 5 336H processor with integrated graphics, and offer an optional RTX Pro 500 Blackwell discreet GPU.
The 16-inch Dell Pro Precision 5 will start with similar specs but can be optioned with up to an RTX Pro 2000 GPU.
The Dell Pro Precision 7 models also offer Intel Panther Lake and Nvidia Pro discreet graphics, but there’s an option for a Core Ultra X7 chip with Arc B390 integrated graphics.
Stepping up to the Pro Precision 7 models also means getting Dell’s latticeless keyboards. Which I don’t find to be an upgrade, but that comes down to personal preference.

‘Hey, what laptop should I get?’ Probably this one.

I tested the new MacBook Neo non-stop for our big review and also did a subscriber AMA on it. (Thanks again for all the great questions!) The Neo is the new easy answer for most basic users wanting an affordable laptop.

I’m curious. For those buying one, what color are you getting?
