I suddenly have the urge to bust out my PlayStation 2 and... a DualSense?

8BitDo continues to bridge the gap between wireless controllers and classic gaming consoles. It recently announced a new Retro Receiver for the original PlayStation and PlayStation 2, allowing you to play on Sony’s older consoles with a modern DualSense, DualShock 4, or other Bluetooth-compatible gamepads.

The $24.99 adapter may not be the most “authentic” retro experience, but it beats being hindered by a six-foot cable.

Two of 8BitDo’s Retro Receivers for PS1 and PS2, sitting beside each other on a table near wireless controllers.
Maybe it’s the nostalgia talking, but I think they’re kinda cute. And the USB-C port even allows for firmware updates.

Anybody down for some 300-player Vampire Survivors local co-op?

Vampire Survivors has a knack for wild, Easter egg-filled updates, but there’s apparently a whole-ass alternate version of the game called the “Directers Cut” that exists.

Author and streamer Laura Kate Dale surprise-dropped a thread about its various absurdities, like its characters that include Santa and a giant skeleton (Mortaccio stans unite!), and a 300-chicken co-op stage.

Will this be released or make its way to the regular game — perhaps with the major update on August 17th adding co-op? Only its vampire puppet developer knows.

The PlayStation 5 is on sale once again for $449.99 — now at Newegg. (Update: sold out)

If this becomes a trend, I’m here for it. After yesterday’s sale on the PS5 and Xbox Series X, the $50 off deal has returned.

This is the standalone disc-equipped console, not one of the bloated bundles Newegg’s offered before. The only “gotcha” is that there are no returns, but I’d wager you’ll want to keep this deal.
