    Shadow of the Nerf-tree.

Bandai Namco has released a new patch for Shadow of the Erdtree. The majority of the patch notes contains the usual bug fixes and weapon tweaks with one very notable exception: the DLC’s final boss has been seriously nerfed. This is good news for all the players struggling with a fight that’s generally perceived as the hardest in the game if not in all of FromSoftware’s history.

Happy 25th birthday to Square Enix’s best video game ever.

On September 7th, 1999, Square Enix released Final Fantasy VIII — one of the all-time great Final Fantasy games. But nestled within that game, featuring an unrivaled progression system, incredible music, and Final Fantasy’s best love story, was director Yoshinori Kitase’s true masterpiece: Triple Triad.

No other mini-game has matched its prestige (though some have come close). Happy Birthday, Triple Triad. Now, where’s my standalone mobile version?

Destiny 2 is charting new frontiers.

Bungie has shared a new content roadmap for Destiny 2. Going forward, expansions will be much smaller and released every six months. The D2 team also plans on streamlining the game’s UI and reward offerings in order to make the notoriously newbie unfriendly game a bit more approachable.

Hopefully the new strategy can right the Destiny 2 ship after layoffs, underwhelming content, and project cancellations rocked the studio.
