    Nier Splat-omata.

Splatoon 3’s new Side Order DLC mixes roguelite dungeon crawling action with some Nier Automata vibes. In Side Order, inklings will ascend a tower completing ever-changing objectives in a quest to the top. Use color chips to enhance your weapons, abilities, and paint colors, but should you fail, you’re busted all the way back to level one to begin again.

Side Order launches on the Switch February 22nd.

I’ve got something in my (Analogue) Pocket.

Analogue has announced that it has finally filled all pre-orders for its Analogue Pocket and Analogue Duo handhelds. Since the handheld’s launch three years ago, it’s taken a while for the company to fulfill its pre-order obligations, but after a series of delays we’re finally here.

Now, orders placed for either the Pocket or the Duo will ship in 24-48 hours.

Roses are red, vampires are fair.

The next Baldur’s Gate 3 patch improves how you can kiss your favorite bear.

Patch 6, arriving next week, will add new camp idle animations and new legendary actions for the game’s hardcore Honor Mode. But the biggest news; improved kiss animations!

Despite the game’s valiant attempts, kissing in Baldur’s Gate is not that much better than drinking was in Mass Effect. Excited to see what the new animations look like, and just in time for Valentine’s Day too!

Finally, some Zelda music Nintendo won’t take down.

After Nintendo cancelled it’s Nintendo Live 2024 Tokyo event, the two concerts set to take place during the event — Zelda and Splatoon — were scheduled to be released later on YouTube. The first of those two concerts, Tears of the Kingdom, is now available and it starts strong.

Zelda music rarely, if ever, misses, and just the first notes of TOTK’s “Main Theme” hits like a rolling Goron. Splatoon fans can listen to their concert tomorrow February 10th.

    Hope is out for delivery.

The first two episodes of Halo season 2 are now live on Paramount Plus. This season will cover the events of the fall of the planet Reach, one of the major events in the Halo universe responsible for the best book in the series, the best game in the series, and the best trailer. (Argue with Cortana.)

Episode one starts the season off strong as a warthog, so if you were previously on the fence about the show, now’s the time to tune in.

    Acquire acquired.

FromSoftware parent company Kadokawa Corporation has purchased Octopath Traveler developer Acquire. Kadokawa, which also owns Spike Chunsoft of Danganronpa fame, said the purchase will “generate synergies” followed by a whole bunch of corporate speak that when translated meant “we bought the thing to make more money.”

Halo season 2 feels less like a video game — in a good way

Unlike the previous season’s pilot, Halo’s season 2 premiere shows you don’t need a bunch of video game details to tell a video game story.

To play Final Fantasy XIV on Xbox, you’re gonna have to fork over extra gil.

In a post on Final Fantasy XIV’s website, Square Enix wrote that, in order to play the MMORPG on Xbox, you will be required to have a Game Pass subscription on top of paying the monthly subscription for the game itself. However, if you have a Free Trial version of the game, a subscription is not required. But the Free Trial, (y’know from the famous copypasta,) only allows players to progress to level 70 while unlocking only two of the game’s four expansions.

PlayStation users currently do not need an extra subscription to PS Plus in order to play.
