Editor, Commerce

Cameron Faulkner is a commerce editor at The Verge. Part of my role is to find and write about deals happening on products that I and our team think are worth your money. I spend just as much time digging into new gaming hardware and accessories. I’ve technically been hired by The Verge twice: first in 2018, then again in May 2025 when Vox Media sold Polygon (where I’d been working as commerce editor since 2023).

You can still get a PlayStation 5 at $399.

Sony recently increased the cost of all PlayStation 5 consoles, with its most affordable digital-only edition priced at $599. However, there’s a bundle that includes the console and some Fortnite cosmetics available at Sony’s site for just $399. I sure hope you didn’t recently pay full price.

Just a good, affordable wireless gaming mouse.

The SteelSeries Rival 3 wireless gaming mouse is available at Amazon for just $21.73 (originally $49.99). It’s a great deal for a 2.4GHz / Bluetooth mouse that can last up to 400 hours with a single pair of AAA batteries (or less if you’d prefer to just use one battery to lower its weight a bit).

Turtle Beach’s new flagship gaming headset seems a lot like that other one.

Remember the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless that launched in 2022? It has swappable batteries, ANC, a wireless hub for transmitting audio from multiple sources, simultaneous 2.4GHz and Bluetooth audio — the works. So does the new Stealth Pro II that’s up for preorder now. Notably, it also supports Hi-Res Audio over wireless, an impressive feat at $349.99.
