I’m captivated by Gritty’s recreation of the idle DVD screensaver.

Is this the sort of thing I’d expect to see at an NHL game? Or from a mascot in any sport? Absolutely not.

But it’s all perfect. The smooth motion. The rebound off each side of the TV screen outline. Most of all, the roar of the crowd when the DVD logo finally lands in a corner at just the right angle. It really takes you back.

    Never change, Gritty.

Apple Music Classical is still in the works.

Apple missed its target of releasing a standalone classical music app last year. But as noted by AppleInsider, Apple Music Classical is still being referenced within code for the latest iOS 16.3 betas.

One of the new strings says “explore this artist in the app designed for classical music,” so it could be an App Store release that appears at any time.

It’d be great demo material for the new HomePod. Just saying.

Netflix just got a flashy redesign on the iPhone.

Check out this video from Janum Trivedi, formerly a senior software engineer at Netflix, as he demonstrates the streaming service’s revamped iOS app that rolled out today — and that he had a hand in making. The new UI is so fluid. So responsive. So… bouncy? Yeah, maybe even “delightful.”

If only Netflix would show similar love to the stagnant Apple TV app.

Trivedi now works on the team behind the promising new Arc browser.
