After a bruising year, Sonos readies its next big thing: a streaming box

Codenamed Pinewood, the black box will open up new possibilities for Sonos surround sound. It doubles as an HDMI switch and will offer a unified streaming experience. But it could end up being surprisingly expensive.

You can stream this week’s FireAid benefit concert pretty much everywhere.

If you’re free Thursday night, I recommend tuning into the star-studded FireAid concert that will stream live from Los Angeles. The massive lineup includes Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Gracie Abrams, and more. I’m 40 now, so I’m most excited about Dave Matthews and John Mayer performing as a duo.

It’s all for an important cause, and Steve Ballmer has pledged to match donations during the broadcast. As for where you can stream it, the better question is where you can’t. It’s nice to see all the services come together for this one.

An alarming Subaru security flaw revealed a year’s worth of vehicle location history.

Security researchers Sam Curry and Shubham Shah found vulnerabilities in Subaru’s Starlink web portal that allowed them to control vehicles remotely and view detailed location information dating back an entire year.

Subaru patched the flaw in November, but it’s a stark reminder of the risks that are often present as cars grow smarter and more connected each year.

Can Samsung’s Galaxy S25 camera actually freeze motion for once?

In the middle of this Unpacked rundown on the S25 Ultra’s camera specs and new log video capabilities, I’m just offering a gentle reminder that Samsung’s phones have routinely struggled at capturing sharp images of moving pets, children, and so on. That’s the important stuff. Hopefully the company has made some progress in these situations as well.
