Are you ready for some (Amazon) football?

It’s Chiefs/Chargers tonight, on Amazon, in the first streaming-exclusive football game ever. It’s a big deal — I even bought a Fire TV to see how it works! — and there’s a lot for Amazon to get right. Axios has a good roundup of all the new stuff Amazon’s trying for the game, and the big question: can Amazon actually manage to not crash all game?

The sports streaming wars might get even more confusing.

A few weeks ago, the Big Ten conference signed a huge and confusing deal for sports rights. And it sounds like ESPN, which owns the rights to the soon-to-be-expanding College Football Playoff, might change some things too. Here’s ESPN chief Jimmy Pitaro to Bloomberg:

“We’ve been clear to anyone who is interested that we are very willing to be flexible here and be creative in terms of this expansion.”

That’s business speak for “give me a number, Bezos and Cook.”

The Rick and Morty season 6 premiere is free on YouTube.

Putting your show’s pilot or premiere on YouTube is becoming a trend, and I love it. The latest to go free is Rick and Morty, everybody’s favorite buddy comedy about space travel and MeeSeeks. A lot about this episode might be confusing if you’ve never seen the show before... but a lot about Rick and Morty is confusing anyway. So enjoy!

    What does Wikipedia... sound like?

Weird question, right? But I love a good sonic logo (Netflix’s Ta-dum, the Windows boot noise, all that good stuff), and now Wikimedia is holding a contest through October 10th to find one for Wikipedia and Wikimedia. I’m imagining... wind chimes. A lot of wind chimes.

If you’re installing iOS 16, turn on haptic typing ASAP.

Seriously, it’s one of the things I liked most about iOS 16 — the setting is hard to find, but it makes typing on glass way better. (And yes, Android has had this forever, but my iPhone doesn’t run Android, so give me this one.)
