    Vote for The Vergecast!

The Vergecast is up for a Webby award this year, and I’ll be honest: I want to win it. We hope you think we’re the Best Technology Podcast, and if you do, head over to their website and vote for us!

If we win, I promise I won’t let it go to Nilay’s head.

There’s a nifty self-messaging tool built into Microsoft Edge.

As you may know, I am a firm believer in the power of constantly texting yourself all the time. If you use Edge, there’s a handy way to do that built right into the browser: the new Drop feature, which syncs all the files, messages, links, and whatever else you add across all your Edge-running devices. (Everything you upload is also backed up in OneDrive.) Every browser should have this!

Today on The Vergecast: Clippy’s back. Again.

Microsoft just can’t quit this whole Office Assistant thing, it turns out — but it might get it right this time. Plus we catch up on Amazon Sidewalk, Matter, and the best laptop microphones money can buy.

Today on The Vergecast: When you see the swaggy Pope, it’s all over.

Did Pope Drip fool you, too? What does it mean that it worked so well? What will the aliens think when they find the Balenciaga bishop among the remains of our civilization? There’s a lot to talk about this week.

Also, we get into whether Apple’s going to launch an AR headset at WWDC — and whether it should.

Today on The Vergecast, it’s all Hotline all the time.

We spent the whole hour answering your questions: about tablets and laptops, routers and modems, privacy and gadget reviews. Also doorbells.

We love your questions, please keep ‘em coming! 866-VERGE11, or you can always email vergecast@theverge.com. Without you, we’ll just end up talking about the moon again.

“Clap your hands or Tinkerbell dies.”

Folding Ideas, the folks behind the classic “Line Goes Up” video about NFTs (and generally just a very good YouTube channel), just put up a long and spicy take on the metaverse in general, Decentraland in particular, and especially the people who spend their time and energy promoting them both. It’s a long watch, but it’s a good one. It’ll make you feel things.
