The encrypted messaging app has already pushed out an update for a vulnerability that Russian hackers have been using to target Ukrainian soldiers. The attacks, discovered by Google, used malicious QR codes to link targets’ devices to the hackers’, allowing them to receive all their future messages. Signal’s update prompts users to confirm they want to create the link, but WhatsApp and Telegram may be vulnerable too.

Three months after adding a dedicated Gemini app to iOS, Google is making that the only place to use its AI assistant on an iPhone. Gemini no longer works in the standard Google app. The move comes just after Google added support for Gemini’s Deep Research mode to mobile, including iOS.

Nintendo is discontinuing its My Nintendo Gold Points loyalty scheme, which rewards players for purchasing Switch games, perhaps in preparation for a new rewards program for the Switch 2. New digital purchases will stop earning Gold Points from March 25th, though it will still be possible to claim points from preorders made before that date, or physical purchases of previously released titles.
Platinum Points — earned through promotions and in-game activities — are unaffected.
Update: Fixed the link.

Lenovo is about to release a folding laptop called the ThinkBook Flip, according to leaker Evan Blass. And yes, we know every laptop folds, but this one does it twice: once at the regular hinge, and then again halfway down the display, which folds outwards when the laptop shuts.
It follows the $3,499 ThinkBook Plus Gen 6, a laptop with a rollable screen that goes on sale in June.
He’s playing Odysseus in Christopher Nolan’s new take on The Odyssey, seemingly putting to bed speculation that Tom Holland is playing the lead in the film. It’s Damon’s first time as a Nolan lead, after smaller roles in Oppenheimer and Interstellar.
Last week Mia Goth joined the sprawling cast in what’s reportedly a non-speaking role, but no-one else’s parts have yet been confirmed. The Odyssey hits theaters in July 2026.
Honor has announced its keynote event at the MWC trade show, where it will launch a “new corporate vision.” It doesn’t look like it’s going to be a subtle one, with a statement claiming that the name represents “exceptional performance” that goes beyond the “steady market-following returns” of lowly beta companies.
What this means for actual product announcements, we don’t know, though we will meet “the future of the AI ecosystem.”
The Chinese AI app is no longer available on local app stores after acknowledging it had failed to meet Korea’s data protection laws. The web version is still accessible, and the app will return if and when it complies with the rules.
Italy blocked the app on similar grounds earlier this month, while the US and other countries are exploring bans for government and military devices.
