When life hands you Grok, donate to Wikipedia.

Elon Musk’s xAI has launched Grokipedia, and no-one was more surprised than us to discover that some pages appear to have been lifted wholesale from Wikipedia. But fortunately Verge commenters have led the way on the best possible response.

“I subscribe to Netflix for the games.”

Said no-one, I suspect. As Netflix shuts down another game studio, we’re not the only people questioning the streamer’s efforts to become a gaming giant.

    eldinar:

It’s almost like people don’t subscribe to Netflix for games.

    Samsung finds its Jony Ive.

Did you know Samsung has never had a company-wide head of design before? I bet you’re not surprised.

Mauro Porcini, who recently led Pepsi’s big redesign, has the unenviable job of making the company’s phones feel like its fridges (ads and all), after becoming Samsung’s first ever chief design officer.

Correction: It is Jony Ive, not Jonny.

    Nothing for less.

The oh-so-hip phone manufacturer will launch what it’s calling its “first entry-level smartphone” this Wednesday, the Phone 3A Lite. The teaser confirms the return of some form of Glyph lighting, but we don’t know much more than that. Expect it to cost less than the $379 / £329 Phone 3A, though I suspect a US launch is unlikely.

We have Xiaomi 17 Pro Max at home.

Frustrated that Xiaomi’s new flagships, with second screens on the back, aren’t launching in the US? Nuu Mobile says its B40 is the first US phone with a second screen, though at $299.99 this is no flagship. Its Dimensity 7050 chip is basic, and the 64-megapixel main camera is joined only by a macro.

At least it was only a beta.

Google appears to have pulled the latest Android 16 QPR2 beta release just hours after it went out, amidst reports of it causing crashes linked to Android’s desktop mode.
