    Walmart releases responsible AI principles.

The retail juggernaut laid out six guidelines to follow: transparency, security, privacy, fairness, accountability, and customer-centricity.

Walmart, which has already rolled out generative AI tools for on-campus employees, signaled it is looking at using the technology for customer personalization. The guidelines don’t explicitly say what kind of AI projects the company has in mind or provide other details on how it will evaluate AI systems.

    China accused of hacking. Again.

This time, the accusation comes from the so-called “five eyes,” aka the intelligence chiefs of the US, Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. FBI director Christopher Wray said China is using artificial intelligence for hacking and spying activities and for proprietary information around quantum technology, AI, and robotics. China vehemently denied the accusation.

This isn’t the first time governments alleged China of stealing IP or hacking. The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security said Chinese state actors tried to steal research on the Covid vaccine.
