Reuters reports Pope Francis will head to Puglia in Italy to meet leaders from the US, Germany, UK, France, Italy, Canada, and Japan to discuss regulating AI.
The pope previously expressed concerns about AI-driven inequality and has learned more about the technology since then.
The pontiff will presumably not wear a Balenciaga coat.

It sure looks like we’re going to see more AI in both Samsung and Google devices soon beyond Circle to Search, which is something to watch for as more AI-powered devices like the Rabbit R1 come to market.
Run:ai’s software lets users share computing power and easily manage GPUs running on cloud and on-premises data centers. It will be part of Nvidia’s DGX Cloud platform, which sells access to Nvidia’s GPUs for a monthly fee. TechCrunch reports the deal cost $700 million.
People using Amazon’s AI library can check if an image was made with Amazon’s Titan Image Generator, which is now publicly available. Right now, the platform will only check Amazon’s own watermarks and not other developers.
Amazon also added the ability to customize guardrails and to bring people’s own models to Bedrock.
The company will offer the same deepfake protection to EU political parties as it did to US politicians. Political campaigns can use Microsoft’s tools to attach Content Credentials, aka watermarks, to media they release to track whether the image or video has been manipulated.
