Samsung is reportedly closing in on a deal with Perplexity.

Samsung is planning a big investment in Perplexity that could bring the AI search engine’s app and assistant to Samsung’s upcoming devices and its web browser, according to a report from Bloomberg.

If this rumor pans out, Samsung would join Motorola in offering users the option to set Perplexity as their default assistant instead of Google Gemini.

Musk and DOGE don’t seem to be going anywhere.

Despite Musk’s stated departure from DOGE (and attempts to talk up his focus on his businesses), sources tell Wired that DOGE-related efforts across federal agencies are “escalating.” President Trump confirmed on Friday that Musk’s “really not leaving,” either, as the tech billionaire says he expects “to continue to provide advice.”

Maybe he should provide a little advice about pest control next, based on the condition the DOGE team appears to have left the United States Institute of Peace’s headquarters in.

    Build-a-Gunpla.

This September, Bandai will open a Gundam museum in Japan, where you can not only watch staff members manufacture Gunpla kits inside its factory, but also create a plastic mini mech of your own, as spotted by IGN.

You’ll get to design the concept of your model, pick a color scheme, create plastic runners to house the individual parts, and even make the packaging. Time to buy a plane ticket to Japan!

This is a concept image showing what the Gunpla design process might look like.

Automattic has resumed contributions to the WordPress project.

The company, which runs WordPress.com, paused contributions to the WordPress open-source project in January, citing the “significant time and money” it spent due to its ongoing legal battle with WP Engine.

In a post on Thursday, Automattic announced it’s ready to “return fully” to the WordPress project, where it will provide contributions across WordPress Core, Gutenberg, WordPress.org, and other parts of the ecosystem.
