UPS is laying off 20,000 workers as it slashes Amazon deliveries.

UPS revealed the job cuts in its earnings report released today, which it says are linked to “lower volumes from our largest customer,” Amazon. The company announced earlier this year that it will decrease its Amazon deliveries by more than 50 percent by the second half of 2026.

The layoffs will affect around 4 percent of the company’s 490,000 employees. UPS also plans to close 73 of its buildings by the end of June.

This is Hugging Face’s 3D-printable robot arm.

The AI development platform Hugging Face has partnered with The Robot Studio to release the documentation for the SO-101 robotic arm that will cost anywhere from $100 to $500 to build, as spotted earlier by TechCrunch. The arm has six motors and works with one or more cameras, letting you train it to carry out certain tasks — like putting a Lego brick in a bin.

Academic publisher Wiley calls for “ethical and legal” AI training.

In a statement published on its site, Wiley says AI developers must obtain a license to use its content for AI training and development. “Wiley has consistently and publicly reserved all rights in our copyrighted materials; no implied permission exists absent a proper license,” it says.

Last month, Wiley announced that while it will allow writers to use AI tools in their manuscripts, they should be a “companion to their writing process, not a replacement.”
