    Audible tests AI audiobook recommendations.

A new test uses AI to make audiobook recommendations based on what it’s gathered from customer reviews. It will then present its suggestions with what customers liked most about certain titles, like “excellent narration” or “relatable storyline.”

This feature, along with a related tags test, is rolling out in beta to half of all US-based Audible users on Android and iOS.

Pokémon Sleep comes to your smartwatch.

The app, which measures your sleep with the help of Snorlax and friends, can now help you track your nightly habits with your Apple Watch, Galaxy Watch, Pixel Watch, or Fitbit.

This should allow for more accurate sleep tracking, as the app previously had you place your phone under or beside your pillow to monitor your sleep and snoring.

WordPress co-founder Matt Mullenweg calls WP Engine a “cancer.”

In a post on his blog, Mullenweg called out the rival hosting service — which is built on WordPress — for “strip-mining the WordPress ecosystem” by disabling certain features like revisions. “What WP Engine gives you is not WordPress,” he says.

WP Engine has since responded the post, saying “recent attacks against us are unfair and untrue and clearly designed to harm our business.”

Amazon tricks customers into buying Fire TVs with “fake” discounts, lawsuit alleges.

A proposed class action lawsuit filed in Washington state claims Amazon misleads customers about Fire TV prices during “limited-time” deals:

Far from being on sale, or being sold at a discount off of List Prices, the Fire TVs were always available for sale during the class period. As a result, everything about Defendants’ price and purported discount advertising is false and misleading.

This echoes a similar lawsuit filed against Amazon in 2021.
