The majority of influencers don’t say when they’re advertising.

That’s according to a study performed in the EU, which looked at 576 influencers across major social platforms. While 97 percent of influencers posted commercial content, only 20 percent — or one in five — disclosed these posts as advertising.

The EU has consumer laws in place that require influencers to disclose when they’re advertising. As a result of the study, the EU has “earmarked” 358 influencers for “further investigation.”

Google Gemini can hang onto your chats for up to three years.

Google recently updated its privacy policy for Gemini — the chatbot it previously called Bard. It details just how long the company will keep conversations that are “reviewed or annotated” by human reviewers, despite whether you’ve deleted your app activity or not:

Conversations that have been reviewed or annotated by human reviewers (and related data like your language, device type, location info, or feedback) are not deleted when you delete your Gemini Apps activity because they are kept separately and are not connected to your Google Account. Instead, they are retained for up to three years.

To compare, ChatGPT lets you permanently delete conversations every 30 days.

Mozilla is laying off around 60 workers and scaling back its Mastodon instance.

In a memo obtained by TechCrunch, Mozilla said the company is making a “strategic correction” that will involve “working through a much smaller team to participate in the Mastodon ecosystem.” The company launched its mozilla.social instance last year.

Additionally, Mozilla is shutting down Hubs, its virtual 3D platform initially launched in 2018. Mozilla says the platform’s userbase isn’t “robust enough to justify continuing to dedicate resources” during an “unfavorable shift in demand.” This shift comes just days after Mozilla appointed Laura Chambers as its interim CEO.

A report suggests Tesla’s Full Self-Driving system may have been involved in a deadly 2022 crash.

Hans von Ohain, a former Tesla employee, was killed after his Tesla Model 3 veered off a Colorado road and into a tree, where the vehicle caught fire. However, The Washington Post interviewed the surviving passenger and obtained 911 dispatch recordings, which indicate von Ohain may have had FSD enabled at the time of the crash.

Colorado State Patrol investigators were never able to determine whether FSD was involved due to the extensive damage and closed the investigation last year. Elon Musk maintained Tesla’s FSD system caused no accidents or injuries just months before the crash occurred.

Paramount is cutting 800 jobs as it looks to “grow revenue, while reducing costs.”

After rumors about layoffs emerged last month, Paramount CEO Bob Bakish announced that the company is laying off around 3 percent of staff. In a memo obtained by Deadline, Bakish tells employees the Super Bowl was a “blockbuster event” that “showcased the full power of Paramount.”

Despite this, the future of Paramount remains unclear, as Deadline reports that media companies and private equity firms are looking into acquiring “some or all” of the entertainment giant. CNBC reported last year that Warner Bros. Discovery was in talks to merge with Paramount.
