    Tracking the rare books that Amazon is feeding to AI.

    404 Media put a tracker inside a shipment of rare books, which arrived at an Amazon warehouse in Las Vegas:

    Amazon employees who work at this location say all they do is receive massive shipments of printed books which they then cut the bindings off in order to scan the books more quickly. The printed book is destroyed in the process.

    Last month, 404 Media reported that AI companies are buying used books in bulk to use them as AI training data.

    Cursor is officially part of SpaceX.

    Elon Musk’s SpaceX completed its $60 billion acquisition of the AI coding tool Cursor on Friday. Cursor says it’s going to work on the company’s Grok AI chatbot, which added a new AI agent feature this week.

    Meta has removed over 750,000 underage accounts in Australia.

    In the months since Australia’s social media ban, Meta says it has blocked 462,000 Instagram accounts and 294,000 Facebook accounts that appeared to belong to users under 16, according to Bloomberg.

    Australia’s prime minister ramped up penalties for social media platforms in June after a study found that four in five teens under 16 in Australia were still using them.

    Trump sued over Truth Social subscription that offers early access to posts.

    In a lawsuit filed on Wednesday, the Freedom of the Press Foundation and The Intercept Media claim Truth Social’s up to $100,000 /month subscription is “profoundly corrupt” and “unconstitutional,” alleging Trump is illegally “profiting by selling government information.” The Intercept and FPT are asking the court to block the Truth Social subscription.
