Apple is losing another executive.

Tang Tan, the company’s vice president of product design for the iPhone and Apple Watch, is stepping down in February, according to a report from Bloomberg. He also oversaw the team that works on the AirPods.

Sources tell Bloomberg that Tan’s departure “is a blow,” adding that “he made critical decisions about Apple’s most important products.” Earlier this week, Bloomberg also reported that Steve Hotelling, the exec in charge of Apple’s touchscreen tech, health sensors, and Face ID, is retiring.

Binance founder Changpeng Zhao can’t leave the US while awaiting sentencing.

A judge ruled on Thursday that Zhao — who resides in the United Arab Emirates — must stay in the US ahead of his February 2024 trial, citing his “enormous wealth and property abroad” as well as a lack of ties to the US.

Zhao stepped down as CEO of Binance in November and pleaded guilty to breaking anti-money-laundering laws after a months-long investigation from the US government.

The latest version of Raspberry Pi OS — called Bookworm — now lets you change the interface to a soothing dark theme from the Appearance Settings menu. Just note that some apps, like Calculator and Geany, will need a restart before the new theme shows up.

You’ll get to make your Google Forms a little more private soon.

The online forms creator is rolling out a beta that lets you share surveys and sign-up lists with specific people — just like Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides. It’s a nice little update, as Forms previously only let you restrict responses to anyone with the link or those within your domain.

23andMe’s updated terms of service include a class action waiver and forced arbitration.

The genetic testing site, which recently admitted hackers accessed the data of 6.9 million users, has begun notifying users of a change to its terms of service that’s meant to “streamline arbitration proceedings where multiple similar claims are filed.”

While the terms of service already included binding arbitration and a class action waiver, Ars Technica spotted that the new terms omit a clause that said users could go to federal or state court to “adjudicate the party’s claim or prayer for ‘public injunctive relief’” following arbitration. 23andMe spokesperson Katie Watson tells The Verge the company “did not change our terms of service to prevent lawsuits.”

The company is only giving users 30 days from when they receive the email to opt out of the new policy, which you can do by contacting arbitrationoptout@23andme.com.
