No changes yet to Netflix following the Epic v. Apple ruling.

Netflix’s Chief Product Officer Eunice Kim, on a call with reporters:

We’re monitoring that situation very closely, and we don’t have anything more to share at this time. But we’ll just continue to abide by the App Store policies until we hear more about how to best implement any changes going forward.

Spotify and Patreon have already made moves to take advantage of the changes required of Apple by the ruling.

    SpinCo is now Versant.

Even Versant boss Mark Lazarus acknowledges that the new name for Comcast’s cable TV spinoff business may not be everyone’s favorite, per a memo reported on by Deadline:

We would be foolish to expect everyone to love the name of our new company immediately. There were certainly some others that we could have gotten behind, but after sitting with Versant for a couple of weeks now, I believe it will suit us well, evoke a sense of energy, and underscore our role in driving progress.

Disclosure: Comcast is an investor in Vox Media, The Verge’s parent company.

Another bombshell dropped on Nintendo Today.

Nintendo’s news app revealed that the Switch 2 will have 258 default profile icons, which is an increase from the 147 icons available on original Switch. Here’s a repost of the video from the app showing all of the icons.

It’s almost as exciting as the last Nintendo Today bombshell, IMO.

    Happy Wordle Day.

The New York Times Games’s Wordle editor, Tracy Bennett, announced that today, May 6th, is the “inaugural” Wordle Day (five letters in a Wordle word + six guesses to play = 5/6), and Bennett put together a series of puzzles you can play competitively with your friends as “Wordle Golf.”

Seems fun, but if a full round of golf is too much, you can also just compare scores on the new leaderboard.

    Not just one.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade has already been announced for the Nintendo Switch 2, but based on a new Nintendo video featuring the series’ director, it sounds like the entire FFVII remake series is coming to the console, too.

See you in Midgar... and all of the other iconic FFVII locations.
