    A disgruntled software developer implemented a software “kill switch” at his job that was designed to lock out all users at his company when he was terminated, according to a Department of Justice press release reported on by Ars Technica. It did activate when he was terminated in 2019 and “impacted thousands of company users globally,” the DOJ says.

    Lyft Silver.

    That’s apparently a version for Lyft in development that’s designed for elderly customers, Bloomberg reports:

    Dubbed “Lyft Silver,” the new mode would include a user experience “designed for seniors with a simple new look” and “easy access to support,” according to a Bloomberg News review of the app’s publicly available iOS code. The offering, which has not been previously reported, would also let older users share ride details with a contact and use digital gift cards sent by people they know.

    The company has sued PlayerAuctions, a marketplace that lets people buy things like accounts and in-game currency for video games, IGN reports. Roblox also sued the marketplace last month.

    A Comcast boost.

    Comcast announced upgraded Xfinity internet speeds across several of its packages that it said reach more than 20 million customers, increasing the upload capacity on some by 50 or 100 percent, with several packages now offering 100, 150, or 300Mbps uploads.
