The game “engaged approximately 1.5 million players during the quarter, down nearly 50% from the company’s expectations,” EA says in a pre-announcement of its preliminary Q3 earnings results. That’s a shame, because the game is pretty good.

Epic is fine with that; an Epic exec told us last year that “the worst outcome for us is that everything looks like battle royale.”
Matthew Griffin, who handles marketing and publishing for the Hollow Knight: Silksong, says that the game is “real, progressing and will release,” as spotted by Polygon.
The “full-scale” sequel was announced in 2019, received a release window from Xbox that it missed, and still isn’t out. At this point, I just live in the clown makeup.
