Meta’s next Horizon Worlds game is called “Shootball.”
It looks kind of like Rocket League mixed with guns, based on a brief glimpse in a trailer of upcoming additions to Horizon Worlds. Meta says the game will launch on January 1st.
The trailer also shows off Horizon Central, a kind of virtual town square where you can “browse” other Horizon Worlds experiences. And Super Rumble, is getting more quests and rewards on December 20th.

Unsurprisingly, I played Baldur’s Gate 3 the most, but I’m surprised that Sea of Stars was my runner up. Also, apparently the median number of games played on Steam this year was four — I expected that to be higher.

James McCaffrey, the voice of Max Payne, has died.
He died after battling cancer, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Personally, I’ll always remember his performance as Alex Casey in the Alan Wake series. RIP.

Nominations for the 2023 Steam Awards have been announced.
I have a hunch Baldur’s Gate 3 is up for another potential Game of the Year award, but the choices won’t be so easy in some of the other categories. Voting starts on December 21st at 1PM ET and ends on January 2nd at 1PM ET.

Adobe says the FTC is looking into its subscription cancellation practices.
Adobe has been cooperating with the FTC since June 2022, it says in an SEC filing reported on by Bloomberg this week. The company warns that “the defense or resolution of this matter could involve significant monetary costs or penalties and could have a material impact on our financial results and operations.”
