Riot Games is making some changes to its account systems.

The Summoner Names players use in League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics are being dropped in favor of Riot IDs on November 20th. Riot has a post detailing what’s going on and some changes for Riot IDs as a whole — including that you’ll be able to change your ID name every 90 days for free, which should address some criticisms from the original plan.

Donald Mustard, the former head of Fortnite’s story, is working for the Russo brothers’ production company.

Axios reports that Mustard is now a “partner” at the company, AGBO, but it’s unclear exactly what he’ll be doing in the role. Mustard announced he was retiring from Epic Games in September.

RCS bubbles on the iPhone will be green.

Apple will support RCS on iPhones in 2024, and the company confirmed to 9to5Mac on Thursday that RCS messages will show up as green bubbles.

Hopefully the huge benefits of RCS over SMS make the blue bubble vs. green bubble debate less of a thing, though.

Threads now works from a mobile web browser.

A member of the Threads team just posted about it. I was able to log in from Chrome on iOS; on Safari, for some reason, I wasn’t. I’m assuming that whatever is going on there will be fixed sometime soon.

And even though I’m running into that issue, I’m happy that using Threads through a mobile browser is an option at all. I’m weird: I like to log in to social media services through the mobile web instead of downloading an app.

Meta and MediaTek are teaming up to develop custom silicon for AR glasses.

It’s an exclusive partnership, Android Central reports, meaning that Meta would be the only company that gets to use the chips. That said, Meta’s first pair of AR glasses might be years away, so it could be awhile until we know how capable the customer silicon is.

If you don’t already own Half-Life, now you can get it for free.

The deal is available until 1PM ET on November 20th, as spotted by Wario64. I’m choosing to ignore the last part of Wario64’s Threads post.
