Sure, it’s annoying that the disc drive needs an internet connection to be set up, but if you need to swap in a new one for whatever reason, you can just drop it in the console and register it with the online handshake, as shown in this video from YouTuber Mystic.
If you want to learn more about the new PS5, check out our hands-on.
They’re apparently in the works, as shown in this screenshot on X shared by app feature-finder Alessandro Paluzzi. In the screenshot, it appears that the word “Threads” is hyperlinked, so maybe you’ll link to individual words or phrases instead of dropping a #hashtag in your post.
Paluzzi also shared a screenshot that indicates Meta is prepping to release Threads in Europe. On Threads itself, there’s some chatter that DMs may be added soon.
We’ve asked Meta about if or when these potential features may be released.
TechCrunch’s report from a visit to Humane’s offices includes a few details I wasn’t aware of, including that the AI Pin has 32GB of local storage and that the first batch of devices will consist of 100,000 units.
The piece is worth reading to round out the picture of the Pin. But until people actually get to try the device for themselves, take everything Humane says with a grain of salt — the AI-powered future may not be everything it’s cracked up to be.

As pointed out by more than one Verge commenter and on this post on Threads, Humane’s AI Pin demo features it confidently making an error about where you can watch April’s total solar eclipse. I’m getting flashbacks to when Google’s Bard made a factual error in its first demo.
These sorts of high-profile flubs are why I have a hard time getting excited about many generative AI tools right now.
The feature just launched in June, but Twitch is removing it “based on community feedback” starting November 15th, according to a support document. However, Twitch partners and affiliates can allow viewers to pin cheers, which are special chat messages purchased with Bits (Twitch’s virtual currency).
Google announced the redesign, which adds things like Home and Mentions tabs, in August, and the company detailed its rollout plans on Thursday.
Google is also introducing a new icon for Google Chat, which definitely looks like a modern Google icon. You can see it in context at the top left of the screenshot below.
X (formerly Twitter) has been steadily improving its features for live streams and broadcasts. Based on this screenshot, chat looks a lot like it does on Twitch.
X is also going to let you add timestamps to posts containing video.
