AMD’s Ryzen Threadripper 7000 chips have a fuse that will blow if you overclock them.

Blowing the hidden fuse doesn’t necessarily void their warranty; while damage caused by overclocking won’t be covered, “other unrelated issues could still qualify for warranty repair / replacement,” the company says in a statement confirming the fuse to Tom’s Hardware.

Tech helped save these adorable orphaned mountain lion cubs.

A search party used data from the mother’s GPS collar to help locate the cubs. They’ll now live at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

Happy these cubs got rescued! You can read more about it in a press release. And yes, I did write about this in part to post cat pics.

Spider-Man 2 will be getting some new features next year.

The game’s next update will arrive in “early 2024” and will add things like the ability to replay missions and change the time of day, Insomniac Games said on Wednesday. Insomniac also said it’s working on features like New Game Plus and audio descriptions, but didn’t give a timeline for those.

Instagram now lets you make AI-generated backdrops for your Stories.

It’s a fun tool, though the backgrounds I’ve tested definitely have an “AI art” vibe to them.

If you’re looking for a new board game, Polygon has some awesome suggestions.

Our friends at Polygon have a great list of board game recommendations. One suggestion, Blood on the Clocktower, is an incredible social deduction game. And Just One is maybe the best-ever (and easiest-to-explain!) game for large family gatherings.

This might be one of the coolest Lego collaborations yet.

A Polish website appears to have leaked a listing for a Lego Polaroid camera, as reported by Jay’s Brick Blog.

Based the photos and the (machine-translated) description of the listing, it doesn’t seem like the camera can take real photos, but it apparently can spit out Lego-ified photos if you load them up.

Here’s some photos from the listing.

Someday, I’ll be able to easily visit my parents again in Starfield.

In a post on Reddit, Bethesda says it’s going to add city maps to Starfield. I could really use one for New Atlantis to help me find my in-game parents.

The company says it’s “hard at work” on features like city maps, mod support, and “all new ways of traveling.” The company expects to roll out updates roughly every six weeks.

Meta wants to “extend” its fact-checking program for Threads in 2024.

Threads currently matches the fact-check ratings from Facebook and Instagram, but “our goal is for fact-checking partners to have the ability to review and rate misinformation on the app,” Instagram head Adam Mosseri said in a post on Threads.

Improving fact-checking tools could make Threads a more attractive place for publishers. (The forthcoming API might help, too.)
