Bad news for the few Meta Portal fans still out there.

On August 29th, you apparently won’t be able to share photos or videos directly from the device, according to a screenshot from a Portal user group on Facebook shared by Portal superfan Katie Notopoulos.

Meta discontinued the product line last year, and this probably won’t be the only feature to go away. From the Portal website:

While supported features will change over time, we will provide notifications of major changes to the device experiences through the device itself. We also plan to maintain system software with critical bug fixes and security patches.

Maybe things aren’t as bad as I thought?

Sean Hollister and I fell down a rabbit hole today trying to figure out why the screenshots from my article about Baldur’s Gate 3 on Steam Deck look so rough. We’re still puzzled, but we did find some unexpected differences in default settings that we’ve added to my article; there might be something going on with the game’s implementation of FSR.

And I want to be clear: the game still totally rules.

Lenovo may have some AR glasses up its sleeve.

Windows Report published new leaked images of the Lenovo Legion Go, its rumored Steam Deck competitor, and one image shows how the device may connect to AR glasses so you can play a game projected on a screen in the air.

    This could be you!

Meta’s next AI tool might be “Code Llama.”

It’s apparently a generative AI tool that can suggest code, and it could be revealed as early as next week, according to a new report in The Information. The article says that the tool will be open source.
