A tough chart about the RAM crisis.

Omida reports that memory costs can make up more than half the cost of low-end phones. That’s leading to a gradual retreat from the low-end market, as low-end products are “already becoming unprofitable and face a high risk of weakening demand as retail price continues to rise.”

Xbox Game Pass reportedly has only 30 million subscribers.

The Wall Street Journal reported the number on Monday. Bloomberg corroborated it on Tuesday, adding that the subscribers figure is “4 million fewer than it did when the company last publicly shared data in 2024.” At one point, Microsoft had hoped that the service would have 100 million subscribers by 2030 — it seems unlikely it’ll meet that bar.

    Yeehaw.

From Summer Games Done Quick, here’s a 15-minute run of Rail Heist, one game from the massive game collection UFO 50. Can’t ask for much more from this one: I learned about a game I hadn’t played before, the runner does some cool tech, and there are some unexpected shenanigans.

BTW, if you see any other runs I should highlight, let me know? I’ll probably post a few more during the event, which is happening now.

Xbox reportedly cut jobs on the Elder Scrolls Online team.

The total number of jobs impacted “could be as much as half the development team,” and a community manager has already shared that the game’s roadmaps “will be shifting,” according to Kotaku.

There are currently more than 13,000 people in-game just on Steam, SteamDB says — and since it’s also on PlayStation and Xbox, the total number is likely higher — so any changes to the game’s development will affect a not-insignificant number of players.

Summer Games Done Quick 2026 is starting right about now.

Catch the event over the next week on Twitch, though my preferred way to watch is to catch VODs after the fact on YouTube.

You can browse the whole schedule on the GDQ website. This year, there’s even a pinball showcase.
