People used to mistake a computer’s disk drive for a cupholder,

but maybe they were all just confusing their disk drive with this bad boy — the Thermaltake Xray A2021. Designed to slot into a 5.25” drive bay, this glorious retro-tech equips desktop PCs with a drinks cup holder and a car-style cigarette lighter.

Now I want to see what other weird accessories I can pick up for my older PC cases. How about a cassette player or this vacuum tube audio filter thing from Cooler Master?

Free Hulu for T-Mobile Go5G Next subscribers.

Starting from January 24th, customers paying at least $100 per month for T-Mobile’s yearly phone upgrade plan can enjoy Hulu (with ads) at no additional cost, alongside Apple TV Plus, Netflix Basic, as well as MLB.TV. That works out to around $7.99 per month of extra streaming freebies.

Check out these stunning drone shots of Iceland’s latest eruption.

The volcano in Iceland’s Reykjanes Peninsula erupted on Monday following weeks of intense earthquakes, forming an almost 2.5-mile lava-spewing fissure.

Tourists have been asked to avoid the area — these videos taken on a DJI Mavic 3 Pro are a much safer way to enjoy the sights instead. The nearby Blue Lagoon geothermal hot spot (sorry) was closed last month and the local town of Grindavik has been evacuated.

    Bird’s goose is cooked.

The Miami-based electric scooter rental company has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in Southern Florida, despite its best efforts. Last year, Bird admitted that it had overstated its revenue for at least two years.

The company will continue to operate while it works through a restructuring agreement with its creditors, and notes that its European and Canadian business arms are unaffected by the bankruptcy.

TomTom and Microsoft are making their own K.I.T.T.

At least, that’s what it sounds like in TomTom’s description of its upcoming Azure-based Generative AI voice assistant for vehicles.

The company says it’s built on TomTom’s Digital Cockpit, and allows drivers to “converse naturally with their vehicle,” verbally control navigation and locate stops en route, and even control onboard systems like opening windows or adjusting temperatures. It’ll be demonstrated at CES in January.

This is the only image supplied so far — it’s a far cry from Knight Rider but certainly looks more practical.
