Similar to the Prompted Playlists that Spotify launched in December, YouTube Music premium subscribers on iOS and Android can now use voice or text descriptions to turn ideas, genres, or vibes into personalized playlists.
In its Q4 earnings report, the audio streaming service said it’s gained 38 million monthly active users (MAU) and nine million paying subscribers since its last quarter. Spotify now has 751 million MAUs and 290 million subscribers globally.
Support for voice and video calls between individual chats is now available to some beta testers, allowing web users to place and receive calls without giving Meta so much personal data via the WhatsApp desktop app. It’ll roll out to more users “over the coming weeks,” according to WABetainfo.
Meta, Microsoft, Amazon, and Alphabet are planning to spend $670 billion on AI infrastructure this year, more than some of the biggest capital efforts in US history by percentage of gross domestic product. It’s dwarfed only by the 1803 Louisiana Purchase, which doubled the size of the US.
The removals — which follow the Trump administration’s previous data purging efforts — target all posts prior to the president returning to office in January 2025, with a goal to “limit confusion on US government policy,” A spokesperson told NPR that the department’s X accounts “are one of our most powerful tools for advancing the America First goals.”
