The Vera C. Rubin Observatory has released the first images taken by its Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST) camera — the largest digital camera ever made — ahead of starting its 10-year survey of the southern sky. The British broadcaster has threatened legal action against Perplexity for allegedly using BBC content to train AI, saying that the Perplexity chatbot was regurgitating its content verbatim. This is the first time that the BBC has taken action against an AI company, demanding that Perplexity cease scraping BBC content, delete copies of infringing material, and provide the broadcaster with “financial compensation.”

The video platform is launching a new “open call” feature that allows creators to effectively audition for brand partnerships. Companies can publish campaign briefs to the YouTube Partner Program hub where creators then submit video content for the brands to review and approve, which may prevent smaller creators from being overlooked.
