The vote also includes reestablishing regulatory oversight of broadband internet, something the Trump administration took away — and was influenced by a lot of fake comments to the FCC.
Some big changes include the addition of real-time ETA, live train and bus tracking, service alerts, and multi-modal trip planning. If you already have the MTA app, it will automatically update. If not, it’s available for Android or iOS. I’m no New Yorker, but this looks way better than the app we have for Los Angeles public transit.

Other experimental features in 1Password include setting default payment details, Touch ID browser integration for Mac, a unified password vault, and a new home tab that will show PIN numbers and other account log-in details based on your location or nearby items.
You can access some of these new features via the Labs tab, while others are available to everyone.
Reuters reports “inoperable” or “spotty” Wi-Fi has been an issue for months — which can happen with new construction. Besides trying new laptops with better Wi-Fi adapters, employees are using phones as hotspots, plugging in, or even going outside for better signal. Google confirmed it’s working to fix the problem, but it could take weeks.
Google opened the campus just before its return-to-office push started in 2022 — but perhaps fixing the Wi-Fi will be a better incentive than a $99 per-night hotel.

JEDEC Solid State Technology Association has released details about its new standard, which it says is better positioned to handle the demands of gaming, networking, and AI.
JESD239 GDDR7 is the first JEDEC standard DRAM to use the Pulse Amplitude Modulation (PAM) interface for high frequency operations. Its PAM3 interface improves the signal to noise ratio (SNR) for high frequency operation while enhancing energy efficiency. It also says GDDR7 has double the bandwidth over GDDR6, up to 192 GB/s per device, and double the number of channels.
We don’t expect to see GDDR7 out in the world until Nvidia and AMD release next-gen GPUs, which could come before the end of 2024 but is a long way from being confirmed.

To use the feature, your device needs Android 14 or higher, the latest version of 1Password, and an app that supports passkeys.
But even though 1Password added passkey support for Windows and macOS desktop browsers and iOS devices last year, Google does not yet have an API that supports 1Password passkeys on Chrome for Android. No word on when that will be available to Android users.
