I went to the Genesis point of Dish’s 5G network, and all I got was disappointment

Project Genesis launched in Las Vegas first, so I figured the experience of using it there would be much better than in Spokane. I was wrong.

This is what the Witcher 3’s next-gen update looks like.

CD Projekt Red has released a trailer for the free next-gen update for The Witcher 3, which is set to release December 14th. It’ll add technical features like ray-tracing and 4K textures, as well as content “inspired by the Netflix series.”

The upgrade is coming to the PS5, Xbox Series X / S, and PC. It’s worth noting that the footage for the trailer was captured on a “high-end” computer.

Another Apple union election has been canceled.

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers union has withdrawn its petition to hold a union election at an Apple store in St. Louis. It says the decision is due to Apple’s “anti-union practices and increased hostility towards workers,” according to Bloomberg.

The accusation is similar to one from the Communications Workers of America union, which called off its own Apple store election earlier this year. Both the CWA and IAM have successfully unionized other Apple stores.

The Ticketmaster Taylor Swift fiasco sparked a congressional hearing.

Senators Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Mike Lee (R-UT) have announced they’re holding a hearing to “examine the lack of competition in the ticketing industry” after Ticketmaster’s site crumbled when millions of people tried to buy tickets to Taylor Swift’s tour.

We don’t know when the hearing will be, or who’s testifying, so it’s unclear if Taylor herself will be taking the stand.

Job cuts are coming to a Silicon Valley original.

HP, one of the world’s largest PC vendors, according to data from Gartner, announced in an earnings report that it’ll lay off 4,000 to 6,000 employees by the end of 2025. According to numbers cited by CNBC, that’s between seven and 11 percent of its workforce.

This is just the latest in a series of large tech layoffs, not to mention that the PC market has also had an especially rough year following a pandemic boom.
