Pixel owners should see the August software update starting to roll out. In addition to security fixes, the new update apparently cleans up some Bluetooth and UI issues for the new Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet device that might have messed with wireless keyboards, the launcher, and certain Live Wallpapers.

The Twitter owner — who we can only assume is entirely, 100 percent, without a doubt, entirely serious about a cage match with Mark Zuckerberg — made several statements about the proposed cage match on Sunday.
Ignore whether or not SpaceX has a permit for discharging wastewater from its most recent rocket test; instead, stay tuned to find out if the billionaire who is “lifting weights throughout the day” will have a doctor’s note for opting out of the proposed August 26th date.
SpaceX just tested the first stage Super Heavy booster and its new flame deflector system for protecting the launch pad from the destruction experienced during the May Starship orbital test flight.
This is in preparation for another Starship flight test. In between touting a fight with Mark Zuckerberg and promising to pay legal bills, Elon Musk has said he believes “we have ~50% probability of reaching orbital velocity, however even getting to stage separation would be a win.”
Popular Twitch streamer and influencer Kai Cenat is facing charges of inciting a riot at his giveaway event in New York City on Friday and hasn’t posted on social media since being released from custody on Saturday morning.
Now (via Variety), the first statement on the incident has appeared on the Instagram story for his AMP (Any Means Possible) group.
Russian communications regulator Roskomnadzor has amped up its censorship push since the country invaded Ukraine last year, and it asked Apple earlier this year to remove the news podcast from Meduza, a Latvian-based independent outlet that publishes news about Russia.
Now Meduza says it received the following notice from Apple, with no mention of what the issue is that apparently needs to be resolved.
We found an issue with your show, Что случилось [What Happened], which must be resolved before it’s available on Apple Podcasts. Your show has been removed from Apple Podcasts.
The podcast is still available on Spotify, Google Podcasts, and YouTube, as well as within Meduza’s app on iOS or Android.
The program that can’t make its payments on time has a new name, as highlighted in Elon Musk’s tweet from last night. Also, the official handle for the account has changed to @Premium.
Unlike several other handles X has hijacked from users in its rebranding push, like @Sports and @Music, it’s unclear if anyone was using this one until now. The most recent use shown in the Internet Archive is a spammy “premium brands news” account in 2015.
From today’s announcement:
The sale will include a talented team of employees, a content library of nearly 6,500 titles, active productions for non-Hasbro owned IP like The Rookie, Yellowjackets and Naked and Afraid franchises, and the eOne unscripted business, which will include rights for certain Hasbro-based shows like Play-Doh Squished.
And as Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks explained in March on Decoder, the IP that’s staying is the stuff that leads to selling more toys:
...it’s natural that we would have entertainment and help to execute entertainment for Transformers. We want to make sure that we retain those capabilities, whether it’s live-action movies or kids’ animated TV shows.
Naked and Afraid, the reality TV show, is probably not going to do an action figure, at least not one that would ship at Walmart. Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris Monopoly is probably not going to be a huge business opportunity for that.
For anyone who hasn’t canceled Max yet, a documentary later this month will dive into the story behind Bishop Sycamore, an alleged Ohio high school program that was mostly a front for a traveling football team.
It stumbled along until 2021 when things fell apart after a 58-0 loss in a nationally televised game on ESPN, and the Ohio Department of Education called it a “scam.”
