Amazon and Netflix teamed up on a Glass Onion gimmick ahead of the movie’s streaming premiere.

The new Knives Out mystery movie from Rian Johnson, starring Daniel Craig, starts streaming Friday morning. As part of the run-up, the circumstances and challenges of our post-Golden Age streaming era are bringing together a couple of odd partners.

If you use Amazon’s Fire TV, it should have access to a “The Mysterious Case of the Stolen Fire TV Cube” promo, helpfully branded by both companies.

You could navigate your way through the interactive experience to find out who took the box and why (with optional clues provided at your request by Alexa), or you could just read Andrew Webster’s review and make your streaming plans for this weekend.

FTX co-founder Sam Bankman-Fried is reportedly agreeing to be extradited to the US.

According to the New York Times, a local lawyer in the Bahamas for FTX co-founder and former CEO Sam Bankman-Fried said that against “the strongest possible legal advice,” SBF is ready to voluntarily agree to extradition to the United States.

SBF had reportedly been ready to contest his extradition; even today, it was reported that he wanted to read the indictment before agreeing to extradition.

In the US, he is set to face a long list of criminal and civil charges covering fraud, money laundering, and more.

Is an upgraded M2 Ultra enough for a new Mac Pro and the Mac Studio?

On the most recent Vergecast episode, we speculated about Apple’s plans for a new Mac Pro and what it might be like when it arrives with one of the company’s M-series chips inside.

However, the latest rumor from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman claims plans for some sort of extreme “double-M2 Ultra” chip have been scrapped (for those counting at home, that’s four M2 Max CPUs working as one) to stick with an upgraded Ultra chip combined with a modular design.

If that’s all there is to it, what does that mean for the future of the already impressive — but not modular and easily upgradeable — Mac Studio?

Here’s the official trailer for Christopher Nolan’s next IMAX-filmed epic, Oppenheimer.

Years after presenting Dunkirk in IMAX as “virtual reality without the goggles” Christopher Nolan is again visiting World War II with Oppenheimer.

He’s said part of the filming process included recreating the first nuclear weapon detonation test in New Mexico without computer graphics.

And if you still need more Nolan:

Apple could open up iOS, and the feds finally make a case against SBF.

This podcast was recorded before Elon Musk’s Twitter ban extravaganza reached its peak, but we dug into the @ElonJets mess. From Apple, we’ll check out the report that it will allow outside app stores on iOS as well as the hole left by a missing M-series Mac Pro in its desktop lineup.

I tried to recap Sam Bankman-Fried’s transition from media tour to handcuffs, and then we talked more about the golden age of streaming and why David Zaslav’s biggest problem might be in his presentation.

After a break to deal with some serious security issues, Hive Social is back.

One of the services we mentioned in our article about the race to build a better Twitter was Hive Social; however, at the time, you couldn’t use it after the operators shut down to fix a few security flaws.

Hive is now back online, with an updated app available for iOS, and an update coming for its beta app on Android.

Still, it’s not a great sign that the best place to find updates on Hive’s service status is its Twitter account.

    Green light.

So good that nothing weird happened last night, right?

    Anyway, in recent non-Elon news:

Here’s what you need to know about nuclear fusion.

Will the Death Stranding movie have as many big stars in its cast as the game did?

    Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has a launch window.

Valve hints at what could be in a second-gen Steam Deck, and Steam Controller 2.

Ripping off AIM away messages is the best feature Instagram has added in a long, long time.

If you’re old enough to remember the words “via Hiptop,” then you’ll recognize that instead of being tweet-like, the new Instagram Notes feature takes inspiration from Twitter’s predecessor — AOL Instant Messenger away messages.

The pop-up statuses are hidden away (for now) in the Instagram messages window, but for the Elder Millennial / Young Gen X generation, it’s a return to the days of flirting via vague but also specifically targeted song lyrics.
