    A simple plan.

NASA and the European Space Agency are developing a plan to bring interplanetary rock samples — already collected by the Perseverance rover — from Mars back to Earth by 2033.

Watch as Lizzie Philip explains the plan, as it exists so far, for the Mars Sample Return Mission.

This might be a preview of the Pixel 7A.

Now that the Google Pixel 7 and 7 Plus are freely available, and we’ve already seen hints about the Pixel 8, it’s time to get rumors going for the next budget Pixel smartphone.

Amazingly, this hardware hasn’t been found in a bar or on Facebook Marketplace yet, but typically reliable source @OnLeaks (you can see his previous Pixel 7 leak here) has produced rendered still images and videos of what the Pixel 7A might look like,

Grab a seat for the Mario movie’s second trailer debut at 5PM ET.

We’ve all heard The Voice (it’s just Chris Pratt, sounding like he usually does), but now we’ll see a little more of The Super Mario Bros. Movie when its second trailer debuts at 2PM PT / 5PM ET.

Are Gmail and Gcal next up for Wear OS?

9to5Google reports that Google is testing a “full” experience for using Gmail and Google Calendar on WearOS, which could work more like Outlook for Wear OS or the Apple Watch Mail app.

Given recent developments, the apps seem to be a likely bet for a company suddenly refocused on competing both in the office software suite and wearable device categories.

The “Zeus” skin for Junker Queen is the star of the Overwatch 2, season two trailer.

Polygon has a breakdown of Overwatch 2 changes coming December 6th along with the shapeshifting new tank Ramattra.

tl;dr — Sojourn’s getting a sniper nerf, Blizzard World is back in the rotation, and logging in before the end of S1 unlocks either all three new characters for Overwatch 1 players, or two of the three new heroes new players.

But if you’re waiting for Zeus Junker Queen, that’s coming as part of an Olympus LTM available from January 5th until January 19th.

FTX-backed decentralized crypto exchange Serum declares itself “defunct.”

As The Block points out, the fall of FTX has also caused a collapse in the now-defunct Serum DeFi exchange, a project backed by FTX, Alameda Research, and the Solana Foundation.

Update authority for its code was held by insiders at FTX, which has left developers unable to address known security risks.

Now the project is promoting a community fork called OpenBook, and says the future of its SRM token — which once had a market cap of over $1 billion but is now down to around $60 million — is “uncertain.”

Faraday Future has a new CEO.

Former Verge senior reporter and current Bloomberg scribe Sean O’Kane points out that California EV company Faraday Future replaced Carsten Breitfeld as its CEO, appointing Xuefeng (“XF”) Chen. The board says it has requested Mr. Brietfeld tender his resignation, but there’s no indication that has actually occurred.

Faraday has most recently been seen building a “production intent” version of its FF91 before eventually delaying the car’s launch... again.

Breitfeld, who previously made a complicated exit from Chinese EV startup Byton, spoke extensively to Sean about his plans for Faraday Future when he took over in 2019.

    Don’t forget.

While some manufacturers have made it easier to disable motion smoothing on new TVs since Tom Cruise made his heartfelt plea (and built in Filmmaker Mode), it’s on by default for far too many screens.

If you’re stuck watching a TV with that soap opera effect, our how-to guide can get you started on finding the off switch, even if some TV manufacturers have recently changed the name of the setting (for example, many new Samsung TVs can turn all the processing off with one toggle now).

    Keep waiting, Tidal subscribers.

A year and a half after Jack Dorsey’s non-Twitter venture bought a significant stake in Tidal, I still don’t understand why it makes sense to combine a financial services company with a music service.

But, while musing about the potential of another mobile OS, Dorsey tells The Verge editor and reviewer Chris Welch, that unspecified changes are “coming soon.”

How soon? Who knows, but probably before Spotify adds lossless HiFi streaming.
