DJI and Insta360 are suing each other over baby steadicams.

DJI sued in China when Insta360 muscled in on drones, and both companies are Spider-Man Pointing in US lawsuits now they’re competing on stickcams. Recall: Insta360 just launched its Osmo Pocket competitor Luna Ultra in the US, but DJI can’t sell its Osmo Pocket 4 here.

Find the complaints here, here, here, and here.

An Osmo Pocket and an Insta360 Luna baby stabilized gimbal camera face off in the spiderman pointing meme image.
DJI is suing over both visual similarities and control methods; Insta360 is suing over stabilization methods and location sharing.

Insta360’s DJI Pocket rival is on sale early.

Technically, Insta360 hasn’t fully announced the wireless-removable-screen, dual-lens camera yet — but that isn’t stopping retailers. The Luna Ultra is $770 at Best Buy and at B&H, and there’s a $970 “Creator Bundle” at Best Buy which adds an extended battery handle, wireless microphone, carrying bag, and wide-angle lens. Lots of unannounced specs at those links too.

Whoops: Microsoft forgot to remove the ‘PS5’ badge from its big Xbox exclusive.

An even messier return to console wars than we thought: As spotted by ResetEra, Microsoft’s own Xbox Podcast seems to have inadvertently revealed proof that Gears of War: E-Day was coming to PS5 before Xbox locked it down. The podcast episode has been pulled, presumably to fix the goof.

I know Threads of Time isn’t newly announced, but it looks so cool.

I just introduced my 9-year-old to Chrono Trigger, possibly my favorite game of all time, and this love letter to it (and other JRPGs of the era) hits me just right. I might be as excited for this one as FFVII Revelation.

AMD just reserved the right to disappoint handheld and Steam Machine gamers.

“I did not say it’s coming,” AMD VP David McAfee tells Tom’s Guide, regarding FSR 4.1 with INT8 for RDNA3 iGPUs. In plain English? The graphics boost in this video may not actually come to today’s AMD gaming portables, even though it clearly works and is coming to older desktop cards:

WTF is going on with Lego, YouTubers, Utah police, and Patreon?

A YouTuber has been arrested. The CEO of Patreon refused to take down his videos. Lawsuits and restraining orders have been filed. All after a Lego reseller, Bricks & Minifigs, reportedly didn’t pay an 83-year-old man for the $100K-plus Lego collection he offered the store on consignment.

We’re watching this one with popcorn: 404 Media’s a good starting point. So is Techdirt.

This mouse is a Stream Deck.

Corsair owns Elgato, so here’s synergy: the $130 Nightsword V2 Wireless. Hold the Stream Deck button to summon virtual Stream Deck buttons, no LCD keys necessary. (Or map to other buttons on the 89-gram mouse.) 170 hours of 2.4GHz battery life or 164 hours on Bluetooth; far less with RGB or 8K polling.

Samsung Display was holding out on us: the 4K 360 QD-OLED has a third mode.

We told you the new 31.5-inch OLED could do 4K at 360Hz or 1080p680, but MSI made it do 2K520 as well — in “the world’s first triple-mode QD-OLED gaming monitor” the MPG OLED 322URDX36. Also, the RGB-stripe monitor has customizable HDR, with 1500-nit peaks. 98W USB-C PD, too. Flatpanels says it won’t ship till 2027.
