Q1 results are out (PDF). We knew the PC market was still struggling and Intel’s actually under the 40 percent revenue dip it forecast alongside January’s $0.7 billion loss, but that’s still a lot of money to lose! Intel says it’s still on track to ship five nodes in four years.

GeForce NOW and other cloud gaming providers stand to gain an even deeper catalog of games if Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision is completed. We see this as a benefit to cloud gaming and hope for a positive resolution.
Not surprising, because Microsoft promised Nvidia big things if the deal went through:
The Chargeasap Zeus nearly does it all: 140W for your MBP, nearly 100W for a second PC, plus two more ports for my Steam Deck or phone (though they drag the wattage down). All that in a single GaN power brick with two-way folding prongs — the better to stay in your wall — and a built-in meter. Is it perfect? Nope! Also be sure to read our crowdfunding disclosure.
Amazon abruptly pulling the plug on its Halo bands reminds me of when the Microsoft Band met the same fate. Google’s been a poor shepherd to Fitbit, too — why is big tech so bad at bands? Must we all wear a smartwatch to track health?
The Steam Deck competitor will be sold in both Z1 and Z1 Extreme configurations, Asus confirms to The Verge. (That was expected, but it’s good to know for sure.) So when you see the starting price on May 11th, know it’s for a somewhat less powerful model.
Here’s our ROG Ally hands-on.
9to5Mac reports that a new version of iOS has silently added a system, “countryd,” that uses GPS, cellular and Wi-Fi data to verify which country you’re in. Apple may soon be forced to allow third-party app stores onto the iPhone in Europe, but not necessarily elsewhere. This could be a way to put location spoofers in their place — so to speak.
Shuhei Yoshida tells The Guardian (via Kotaku):
“PlayStation embraces new ideas, and many of them fail. We do a prototype, we evaluate, we decide whether to spend more time and resources, or we just stop. We cancel so many games. I usually try to convince the developer that I’m trying to save them from getting stuck with this project … We tend to work with people who have very strong ideas, we love these people, so trying to change or stop their project is so hard.”
These days, he’s in charge of PlayStation Indies.
The Flash’s second trailer just dropped. Batman’s jet plane is absolutely the star of this movie. Batwing rules.
The film’s director says WB built an entire Batcave set to house it, too.
