The first batch of refurbished Steam Deck OLED is already sold out.

Those Decks didn’t last long! Valve told us it’ll make more of the nicely discounted refurb units available, though, and that they’ll generally go in and out of stock.

I may have hinted to my family that I wanted an OLED upgrade as my one Christmas present this year... wonder if they saw it in time?

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, formerly a PS5 timed exclusive, is coming to PC.

PS5 Pro may not be the best place to play it for long — it’s coming to PC on January 23rd with “Improved lighting, enhanced textures & modeling, DLSS & VRR... and more!”

Square Enix will also sell a “Twin Pack” which includes Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, the earlier chapter which hit PC in 2022.

    eGPUs continue to evolve.

We’ve seen a $99 external graphics dock for those who’ve got desktop GPUs and power supplies lying around, and a $159 one with built-in power if you’ve got a specific mini-PC — now, Aoostar is offering a sleek $219 model that can connect over both Oculink and USB 4, with up to 350W of power for your desktop GPU of choice and up to 100W for your laptop or handheld.

Palmer Luckey’s Game Boy is not “indestructible” and my car easily crushed it.

The arms dealer’s Game Boy is surprisingly durable — I dropped the ModRetro Chromatic twice on rough concrete with only dents and scratches!

But the company advertises “a handheld that’s indestructible” and literally shows a car wheel on top of it. Such a fun thing to test! Here’s how it worked out for me:

PSA: You’ve got another year to save your Google Stadia gamepad from a wired-only existence.

Did you know Google’s pretty good gamepad can be converted to Bluetooth mode with an official web app, letting you use it with PCs and phones wirelessly instead of forever searching for dead Google servers?

Google has once again extended the deadline to save these gamepads — until December 31st, 2025.
