A Swedish hot dog with shrimp salad is the most chaotic evil sandwich ever and I will hear no arguments to the contrary.

The Sandwich Alignment Game is the time-waster you didn’t know you needed this weekend. You could lose serious time placing these 57 sandwiches on a D&D-style alignment grid. Now, some people might say this isn’t really a game, but I disagree. Deciding whether an eggplant parm or a meatball parm is more lawful than the other requires real mental dexterity.

A time-travelling Sam Rockwell leads the anti-AI uprising in Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die.

Gore Verbinski (The Ring, Rango, and the Budweiser frogs) is apparently not a fan of AI. The second trailer for his upcoming techno-apocalypse comedy focuses on the dehumanizing nature of technology, letting you know this isn’t just a mindless romp and that your smartphone is the beginning of the end for humanity. The movie is hitting theaters February 13th.

Everything else in your house is smart now, so why not your dog crate?

The CleverK9 is one of the first, if not the first, smart pet crates on the market. As you’d expect from anything with the word “smart” in the title, it has an app for opening the doors, and you can even automate it so they’ll unlock in the event that smoke or CO2 is detected.

Unsurprisingly, the CleverK9 won’t be cheap, starting at $600 and going up to $2,000 based on size. But hey, at least there’s no subscription.

The Rovar X3 would be a very adorable robot hiking buddy.

Sentigent Technology was showing off this tiny rugged outdoor companion at CES, highlighting its ability to tackle tough terrain and stairs. Though, with a battery life of just six hours and standing only 1.5 feet tall, it’s not gonna be able to through-hike the Appalachian.

Sentigent also suggests sending it out to the playground with your kids as a robo-babysitter. But that seems even more ill-advised.

Eve’s first smart thermostat for the US supports Matter-over-Thread.

In addition, the Eve Thermostat works without an internet connection and doesn’t require any sort of additional subscription — something that is depressingly rare these days. Otherwise, it offers all the usual stuff you’d expect, including app and voice control, automations, and scheduling, for $129.95.

Is that more of a millennial gray or a sad beige?

JLab claims its new Mini ANC are the world’s smallest earbuds with active noise cancelling.

Each bud measures just 19mm x 21mm x 14mm and weighs 2.2 grams. For comparison, an AirPod Pro 3 weighs 5.55 grams and stands a comparatively towering 30.0mm tall. Even the charging case is barely bigger than a Zippo lighter at under two inches long and under an inch tall. And, on top of that, they’re only $39.99.

JLab JBuds Mini ANC in graphite. They’re pretty standard looking earbud, but like small. Though, you wouldn’t know it from this picture because there’s nothing in it for scale.
There’s nothing here for scale, but, trust us, they’re small.
